Invitro fertilization is recommended in cases wherein the egg quality is poor, blockage of the fallopian tubes, ovulatory dysfunction and endometriosis.
In IUI only the sperm is deposited in the uterus while the fertilization is allowed to occur naturally. However, in IVF the sperm and the ovum are combined to fertilize under laboratory conditions (in vitro) and the resultant embryo is implanted in the human body.
IVF is recommended considering the underlying issue, age, and health of the patient. This treatment has high success rates and allows the doctor to have better control over the patient’s response. It is a well-known fact that IVF is high-priced when compared to IUI, but in some cases, couples find it to be budget-friendly in the long run owing to its high success potential.
